Mrs Konzevich had a warm, generous heart and a beautiful smile. She was a gentle soul who somehow managed to teach us using only kindness, encouragement and humour. Some of us were quite lost and overwhelmed when we first left home at eighteen to study in Leeds, but ‘Mrs K’ always made us feel at ease in her class and at home in the Russian department.
